Purpose of the Local Green Exhibition

Draft

Inspiration through Informational Art

  1. The purpose of the Local Green Exhibition is to inspire each city to adopt and implement the best green initiatives through the creation of a poster and quilt of the city’s 12 Green Megatrends®.
  2. Individuals in each city will be more willing to support the city’s green initiatives if they are inspired by the art and are able to appreciate the city’s green initiatives by seeing them “at a glance.”
  3. By
    • Sharing a one-page explanation of each image on the poster and
    • Displaying the quilts yearly with the World’s Largest Environmental and Calendar Quilt,

the city and individuals from each city will be inspired to improve their green initiatives for next year’s poster and quilt. The city and Individuals will be inspired to see that they are helping other cities and joining with them in a common quest to help the planet.

  4. Students will feel great about their city if a one page explanation of the city’s Green Megatrends® is displayed as a poster each month in their classroom. The poster can be turned into a lesson plan with 10 questions on the bottom of the poster.
  5. Students and schools will be inspired to compete to improve their own green initiatives. The monthly winners of the most green points in each school will be allowed to “Capture the Quilt” (by having their photo with the quilt). School spirit will improve since the students will feel they are doing something useful to help the planet.

Hearts will be touched and team work skills improved since students and schools will also receive points through cooperation (helping their fellow classmates and other schools).
